Knowledge of the industry you want to transfer to: what skills and education are required, who are the movers and the shakers, and what are the future prospects for that field will make a smooth career transition? If you have completed your information interviews (our tip for the letter "I") you will have collected this information, which will help you plan your next steps to transition your career.

 

Career Builder Challenge - Identify the industry you want to work in. Write down everything you know about this industry. Write down what you need to learn and start working on that list. For example, which companies are involved, are there any organizations or non-profits involved? Who do you need to get to know at each of those companies or agencies? What kind of education do those employees have? Where do they go for lunch? What type of clothes do they wear, formal or casual? Do they have employees or contractors, how often do they work? full time, part time, seasonal? Know the answers to these questions to help you create a seamless career transition.
