“I” is for Information Interviews to get accurate information and not rely on speculation. Ask for 15 minutes, bring 2 coffees, and have specific questions. Do not ask for a job.

 

Career Building Challenge is to start a list of people and companies you would like to interview. Then starting at the bottom of your list, with the company you would least like to work for, phone, and book an appointment. Practice makes improvement; with each successive information interview you will increase your skill and comfort level.

At Morgan Ebbett we find this type of interviewing relaxed when compared to the formal interview and so it is easier to talk and you often get great insider information.
